The Park River Area Early Learning Center officially opened in Fall 2025! The Center offers high-quality early childhood programming for 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds, and wraparound daycare services.

New this year, the Early Learning Center is proud to provide part-day preschool programming for 3-year-olds. This program introduces children to a play-based, developmentally appropriate environment that supports early social, emotional, and academic growth.

• M-W-F Morning session: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

• T-Th Morning session: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

• T-W-Th Afternoon session: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

The Park River 4-Year-Old Preschool program continues to serve children who turn 4 prior to August 1st of the school year.

• Morning session: 8:30 – 11:45 AM (Monday–Thursday)

• Afternoon session: 12:15 – 3:30 PM (Monday–Thursday)

Best in Class Grant

The Park River Area School is a 4-time recipient of the North Dakota Best in Class Grant. Best in Class classrooms are committed to delivering the highest-quality experiences to children and families the year before kindergarten. The grant provides:

• Meaningful, play-based learning in the preschool classroom

• Training and support for preschool staff

• Family engagement opportunities

• Funding to help bring developmentally appropriate experiences to students

In addition to preschool, the Early Learning Center now offers wraparound daycare services for enrolled students. These services ensure children are cared for throughout the day, providing families with greater flexibility and peace of mind.

The Park River Early Learning Center added a playground to our project thanks to generous donations from individuals, businesses, the school community, and the Park River community. The playground is equipped to provide a handicap accessible preschool playground for all preschool aged students located next to the Park River Area Early Learning Center. This playground is also open to the public during non-business hours.
