🌟 Meet Our 3rd Grade Team! 🌟 At Park River Area School, our 3rd-grade teachers are passionate about creating a strong foundation for student learning while making the classroom an exciting place to grow! 🔬 Miss Renae McGauvran specializes in science for 3rd grade, sparking curiosity and a love for discovery in her students. She also leads Battle of the Books, encouraging a love of reading through teamwork and friendly competition. 🌎 Mrs. Jenna Biggers brings history to life as the social studies teacher for 3rd grade. She helps students explore the world around them, making connections between the past and present while building critical thinking skills. 📖 In addition to their specialties, both teachers work hard to develop strong skills in math, reading, and writing, helping students gain confidence and independence in their learning. 3rd grade is a big year! Students begin to read for deeper meaning, tackle more complex math concepts, and build strong writing skills. 💡Real-World Learning in Action! This year, 3rd graders are getting an introduction to basic economics by learning about goods and services. Throughout the winter, students earn classroom money for things like being helpful, supporting classmates, and following expectations. Then, in the spring, they will transform their classrooms into a marketplace where they create and sell goods, make trades, and use their hard-earned money to make purchases—what an awesome hands-on learning experience! Thanks to the dedication of Miss McGauvran and Mrs. Biggers, our students are set up for success! We are so grateful for these amazing teachers and the work they do every day! 💙 #ParkRiverProud #3rdGradeTeam #GrowingMinds #DedicatedEducators

🌟 Teaching Kindness at Park River Area School! 🌟 At Park River Area School, we know that learning goes beyond academics—it’s also about building strong character and emotional skills. That’s why our Extended School Program (ESP) is excited to use the Kindhearted Kids curriculum, a fun and engaging way to teach kindness, responsibility, respect, empathy, and citizenship to our students! What is Kindhearted Kids? This program helps children ages 7-11 develop important life skills through hands-on learning. Each student "adopts" a stuffed dog or cat, using it to practice caring, kindness, and responsibility. Why It Matters By participating in Kindhearted Kids, students learn how to be more thoughtful, caring, and responsible—skills that help them at school, at home, and in the community. Research shows that social-emotional learning improves behavior, friendships, and overall success in school! We are so excited to bring this program to our students and watch them grow into kindhearted leaders of tomorrow! ❤️ #ParkRiverProud #KindheartedKids #BuildingStrongCharacter #GrowingHeartsAndMinds
